Let me preface this by saying how mad I am at myself for waiting this long to write a review for these boots. They’re absolutely fantastic. I bought my first pair from this company back in 2015 and have worn them practically everyday since. I loved them so much that I bought the burgundy pair as well. As with all Dr Marten boots, there’s a steep “break in” curve of comfort. And honestly, I really didn’t notice how well they ended up form-fitting to my feet until I had to start breaking the burgundy pair in. The pain and inevitable calluses are worth it!
Sizing is pretty standard of all docs – I’m normally anywhere from a size US 7 1/2 – 8 1/2, bought the UK 6, and have room to spare for thick fuzzy socks in the winter. I have plenty of other styles of Dr. Martens – but the platforms are the reason I got these in particular. (every millimeter counts when you’re only 5’2) I’ve read a few comments and questions about the weight of the boots – they ARE heavier than “normal”, as I’ve had plenty of people remark after trying them on – but give it a few days and you won’t even notice the weight. If anything, “normal” shoes will feel too light after wearing these full time.
Now for my sad sob story (aka the reason I’m writing this review) – just this past weekend the zipper broke on my black pair. Which really is a testament to how well these boots are made. I know that sounds strange but I got some HEAVY use out of these bad boys. I’m talking hiking, climbing up a mountain (yes, a mountain. In these platform docs. I don’t recommend doing this. Buy hiking boots, please learn from my mistakes), commuting several miles on a bike everyday. The zipper lasted two years of me violently beating them up.
The rest of the boot is in perfectly good working order so I plan on getting the zipper fixed to save as a backup pair. I decided to buy a new pair because cosmetically – well, they’ve been through a lot. I’ve had chemicals spilled on them in class (you’re told to not wear open toed shoes in chem lab for a reason), and they’re scuffed to hell and back… but honestly don’t docs look best when they’re a little grungy?
The only complaint I have is that the tongue of the left boot is maligned – it twists to the left slightly. This happened with both of my original pairs (I included a pic), but not the newest one that I just bought. But it really isn’t that big of a deal, it’s only cosmetic. I also wish they offered them in something other than the smooth leather finish, but that’s something to take up arms against Dr. Martens for, not the Amazon review board.
I totally recommend getting them if you’re on the fence! They are worth the investment. Even if you decide to hike up mountains in them (please don’t).

Martens as my first boots actually at that time I’m not looking for these boots btw these are Jadon at that time I “re looking for” boots that have reduce soles otherwise Jadon have thick-witted soles I’ve been mis boots for a long time, it’s like many years and finally I get boots then I exited straight-shooting to the store and receive which pose I liked and then the male work is demonstrated by these boots, he said “how about these( Jadon)? ” I didn’t even know these boots( Jadon) existed fist term I see Jadon and I once know that Jadon is the one that I like so I tried these on the first time tried Jadon, it feels like this is the one. I crave this! back then when I tried the one that have thin soles I’m not sure if I like them but when I tried Jadon, my heart scream this is it! I really like these boots! I’ll demonstrate you guys these boots items the skin is the smooth type kind of leather these are genuine leather these have fastens these have metallic silver eyelets these have signature yellow Dr.Martens stitching at the soles in the pluck invoice there is writing “airwair with soles bouncing” one thing that I really like and super astonished with these boots is the zipper! this is the zipper numerous people feeling sleepy to bind their high-pitched top shoe laces right? we need extra effort in tying and untying shoelaces but these have zippers! I suppose It’s like lifetime changing and I actually desire these boots these have super thick soles it’s thick-skulled and still wearable! it’s cool actually! give us a taller seek I really appear towering when I wear these boots I truly desire these If people ask me “are those ponderous? ” of course these are heavy.
Usually standard boots already heavy, and these of course are more ponderous these are quite ponderous I bought length EUR 37 my TTS is EUR 38 for these boots I choice EUR 37 and it fits me well EUR 38 is too big for me so I study Jadon is down sizing 1 immensity so I down immensity from EUR 38 to EUR 37 if beings ask me “are they cozy? ” I said of course boots is less pleasant than sneakers if you are looking for comfy type shoes the answer is sneakers and not boots I ponder boots have their own style.
And it depends on very you like them or not if you like boots simply wear them it’s also the reason why I didn’t buy boots right a space. At that time I still “ve been thinking about” “am I ready to wearing boots? ” because I have feelings hoofs. I easily went swellings and finally I decided to buy boots. and I imagine I will get used to these boots because the longer we use it, the softer it will be I’ve expended these once at that time when I went to the store to buy these, I immediately wore these boots for move so I got used to it at first they are so stiff, like common boots and I picture these are quiet heavy but I’m okay with that because these are that kind of shoes these are genuine skin if you ever watch youtube video ” how to break Dr.
Martens” it’s a video that tell you how to break your boots so they will be more comfortable to wear I feel It’s not necessary to be intentionally to break my boots. I prefer my boots break-dance naturally the toll is around IDR3, 000,000(+ – $ 200) the one that have thin soles( I forgot the called) is more cheaper than Jadon I mull Jadon is more pricey because it cost more substance more it’s so worth it I fantasize with the prices that I paid and the boots that I got these are genuine leather and the quality is awesome so worth it, these are gonna be my favorite and I’ve absolutely no sadness wasting that much money to get these awesome boots it will be long lasting very maybe some of you feel that boots with IDR3, 000,000 or IDR2, 000,000 (+ – $ 207 or $138) are too expensive, it’s okay you can get the alternative at H& M I accompanied the similar Jadon boots at H& M at cheaper expenditure around IDR5 00,000 (+ – $35) Dr.
Martens Jadon for IDR3, 000,000 (+ – $ 207 ), and H& M stage boots simply IDR5 00,000 ($ 35 ), the premium is quite different of course H& M boots are not genuine leather the quality is also different from stitching, character, and likewise the heaviness the Dr. Martens Jadon is more way heavier that H& M pulpit boots you guys previously know that you will get what you paid it depends on our budget and likewise what we want I prefer the quality and also long lasting one so I choice the genuine leather and likewise buy from the well known brand like Dr. Martens tips from me, use some super thick-skulled socks so you don’t get much swellings from wearing these boots
